Sorry for the short post again but it's a little hectic right now in Joanne's real world. Here's a few things to consider after you listen to Nancy and Joanne's spirited conversation on judgement, religious states and postures during Mass:

1) If you have feedback or stories of past homilies/liturgies this would be a great time to share them with us. If we get enough Joanne can piece them together into a podcast that will help keep us current during Holy Week/Triduum. To get them to us you can use the following methods:

  • drop us an email to mondaymorningcatholic@gmail.com
  • call us using the feedback line at 774-955-0659
  • jot down your thoughts in the comment box on this website
  • check out our Facebook page and post something or comment there

2) We WILL let you know both here and on Facebook what and when our podcasts will be available in the next few weeks. Joanne will also try to record a quick blurb to put in the podcast feed if she can. Please pray for us and for all who minister to our parishes during the most scared time of the year - as our friends at CatholicTV would say -- "We do it ALL for YOU!"

Thanks for understanding!

The ladies of MMC marked the halfway point of Lent with homilies that once again covered both the Cycle A and Cycle C readings --each uncovering a different aspect of God's mercy for us. They then turned to the VOICE OF THE PEOPLE for this week and returned to the subject of the movie SPOTLIGHT, winner of this year's Best Picture Oscar. Throw in a little tech talk, along with tales of Nancy's recent vacation, and this episode has something for everyone. We hope you enjoy it!

Remember -- we just LOVE your FEEDBACK and SUGGESTIONS!  Maybe you'd like to share a bit about yourself or maybe you just want to share a homily or a topic with the community. If you'd like in on the fun then here's what you need to do:

  • drop us an email to mondaymorningcatholic@gmail.com
  • call us using the feedback line at 774-955-0659
  • jot down your thoughts in the comment box on this website
  • check out our Facebook page and post something or comment there

PLEASE don't forget to add your voice to our VOICE OF THE PEOPLE segment. Just "like" our Facebook page and share or like the articles you come upon. Highest numbered post becomes that week's segment. It's that simple!

Joanne here...Sorry, folks, but after working on this post for 2 hours I accidentally closed the browser (I was trying to close Garageband) and lost the ENTIRE ENTRY!! Since I don't have the time or patience to reproduce the work, I'm just posting the files this week and moving on. I'm sorry if this seems childish or unprofessional but sometimes when these things happen and you don't have anymore time to devote to it you just have to cut your losses on move on. Thanks for understanding.

NOTE: We apologize for having to scuttle the podcast last week due to illness. Maybe one day one of the other crew members will take Joanne up on learning how to record an episode so the "show can go on!" (We won't hold our collective breath but we can dream...)

A good cup of coffee is enjoyed by many each day, especially first thing in the morning. While Joanne is definitely a tea drinker, java aficionados Nancy and Linda joined together with her on this podcast to not only talk about the readings and homilies for the second Sunday of Lent, but other simmering topics such as Justice Scalia's funeral, the state of affairs for the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, lector mishaps with this week's scriptures and a funeral for a coffee king. Whether you take it black or with cream & sugar, grab a cup and come along for an off-the-rails episode, complete with yams! Enjoy!

We have been remiss in not letting your know about Fr. Austin Fleming and his recent surgery/recovery. Prayers for his continued healing would be greatly appreciated and if you'd like to know more about how he's doing please visit his little corner of the vineyard

Linda, Joanne and Jason (yeah!) join forces on this episode to ring out the Alleluia as we journey to the beginning of Lent this coming Wednesday (2/10/16). They also manage to bring to the forefront of conversation Lenten prayer rituals, inviting Jesus into your boat and this week's Voice of the People - moving the Confirmation age (the fasting moving Facebook post to date). Snuggle up with a hot beverage on a snowy winter day (if you're in our neck of the woods) and join in on the fun -- enjoy!

Programming note --> Next week we will record LIVE on Monday morning 2/15. Watch our Facebook page and this website for the details and the link!

While you may think the title of this week's MMC episode is a little wacked, it actually is more perfect than you think! You'll just have to listen/watch to find out...

Apologies for the sparse website content and the lateness of the post but that's what happens when Joanne goes on a weekend retreat with teens and has to function the next day. Thanks for understanding and, as usual, ENJOY!

With the gentlemen of the podcast shoveling out after the first "significant" snowfall of 2016, the ladies of MMC took up a cup and to the airwaves ready to discuss a number of equally significant topics. From hard-to-read feedback and an altar made of snow to the weekend's homilies and a common date for all Christians to celebrate Easter the gals covered it all in style -- and with a few laughs along the way. Grab your own cuppa and a comfy chair to join in on it all -- enjoy!

We've said it many times (well..Joanne does...) that we just LOVE your FEEDBACK and SUGGESTIONS!  Maybe you'd like to share a bit about yourself like John from Wakima and Bernadette from Lakeville have already done - or maybe you just want to share a homily or a topic with the community. If you'd like in on the fun then here's what you need to do:

Don't let the title lead you astray! We here at MMC are not frustrated or disgruntled by the intense and sometimes very wordy fourth gospel  but, rather, are quoting one of our homilists that sometimes one needs a shovel to get through the many layers of this singular account of Jesus's life. Rising to the challenge, Linda, Joanne and a late arriving Steve shared their best Wedding at Cana homilies along with this week's VOTP concerning Catholic wedding vows and concluding with a tech demonstration from none other than Linda! Also, we get to know more about one of our regular community members. It's definitely a chock full episode so grab your favorite beverage and a comfy seat and join us. As always, thanks for your support and enjoy!

It may be a New Year but we're still sounding a familiar call for you to send us your FEEDBACK and SUGGESTIONS!  Maybe you'd like to share a bit about yourself like John from Wakima did this week - we'd love to get to know our community better. If you'd like to do so then here's what you need to do:

  • drop us an email to mondaymorningcatholic@gmail.com
  • call us using the feedback line at 774-955-0659
  • jot down your thoughts in the comment box on this website
  • check out our Facebook page and post something or comment there

Remember - we'd really love to hear from you and PLEASE don't forget to add your $1.98 (2 cents + inflation) to our VOICE OF THE PEOPLE segment. Just like our Facebook page and share or like the articles you come upon. Highest numbered post becomes that week's segment. It's that simple!

If you really want to savor and digest the entire homily from Bishop Barron that Joanne shared this week then mosey over to wordonfire.org  and check out not only his sermons but his new podcast.

Steve shared with us that his parish handed out copies of Matthew Kelly's new book REDISCOVERING JESUS for Christmas. If you want to know more about this latest offering of his or anything else he has available then check out his website dynamiccatholic.com

With the conclusion of the Christmas Season, the MMC crew reflects on Christmas past and prepares to take a brief liturgical rest before embarking on Lent 2016. Linda, Nancy, Joanne and Jason share an abundance of baptismal homilies, a VOTP (Voice of the People) article on NOT sharing your junk with the poor and when are the use of Christmas carol melodies just too much. Pull up a comfy chair, a cold or hot drink and join us for another spirited discussion - enjoy!

Happy New Year!

We're baaaaaack...well...some of us are...

Linda and Joanne return to MMC after a 3 week hiatus and with LOTS of feedback, a couple of VOICE OF THE PEOPLE topics and, of course, the weekly homilies they are NOT at a loss for things to talk about. A new regular crew member was announced as well so this is one episode you can't miss! Curl up in that comfy chair with one last New Year's beverage and, as always, ENJOY!

And thanks to all who kept Joanne and her family in their thoughts and prayers over the last few weeks - it was much needed and appreciated.

Round two begins (ding, ding, ding!). We continue our 100th Episode celebration with getting to know our host and moderator a little better and then move on to sharing some of the more memorable (and not) events of the podcast, a redux of the "10 Things You Might Be Doing Wrong at Mass" with the entire crew and our hopes for the future of this little "experiment." Ring in the New Year with Linda, Nancy, Stephen and Joanne - get comfy and get some holiday cheer and listen along (remember, no video again - sorry...). Enjoy and a Happy, Blessed New Year from all of us at Monday Morning Catholic!

Help us start the New Year off right by sending us your FEEDBACK and SUGGESTIONS!  Maybe you'd like to share a bit about yourself like we did - we'd love to get to know our community better. If you'd like to do so then here's what you need to do:

  • drop us an email to mondaymorningcatholic@gmail.com
  • call us using the feedback line at 774-955-0659
  • jot down your thoughts in the comment box on this website
  • check out our Facebook page and post something or comment there

We have a few new things up our collective sleeves for 2016 and your feedback/suggestions would help us refine those further. We'd love to hear from you! And PLEASE don't forget to add your $1.98 (2 cents + inflation) to our VOICE OF THE PEOPLE segment. Just like our Facebook page and share or like the articles you come upon. Well, it took us an extra week to make this happen but -- TADA! -- it's finally here! The 100th installment of the Monday Morning Catholic Podcast is ready for YOU...well, sort of. You see, the crew was so chatty we talked for almost TWO HOURS and since we wanted to be mindful of our community's shorter attention span during the Christmas holidays, we decided to "divide and conquer" by splitting the show in half and releasing it over 2 weeks. This also gives the crew some well deserved time off so it works out for everyone! We hope you enjoy the "Podaversary" and we thank you once again for listening/watching our little contribution to the New Evangelization.

Speaking of watching...Joanne apologizes profusely for having a little problem with the video for this episode. She promises in the future NOT to delete ANYTHING from YouTube before she is ABSOLUTELY SURE she has it safely in her computer. =)

Enjoy...and MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Hello all,

due to an emergency in Joanne's family, we are going to push back the posting of MMC Episode 100 until next Monday, December 21st. Since it came out to be just under TWO HOURS in length, we will also SPILT the podcast into two installments that will post on 12/21 & 12/28. This should give Joanne some needed time with her family and the rest of the gang some time to get some well deserved rest after their busy Christmas weekends. We thank you for your patience (and prayers) and we know it will be worth the wait.

Caio for now!

The gals and Jason gather again this week to continue the Advent journey and there is no shortage of topics to discuss (which is why the podcast went 15 minutes over). From three very different yet engaging homilies, to Tim Tebow's love life and then a quick review of the movie SPOTLIGHT, this last episode of the double digits covers a lot of ground. So pull up a comfy chair, break out your favorite beverage and join us. Thanks for your continued support and, as always, enjoy!

Nancy was inquiring about a liturgical calendar that could be integrated into Mac's iCal and Joanne, the Techmaven, told her she had one but couldn't quite remember where she found it last year. Well, after a little searching, she located it at the UNIVERSALIS website and it's available for both iCal and Google Calendar for FREE! The easy to follow directions can be found at productivecatholic.com and don't worry if it seems these intructions look out of date - Joanne was able to download this year's calendar with no problem. It's a great way to integrate the church's dates with your own.

Cycle C - The Year of Luke has arrived and another Advent finds the MMC crew beginning their third year of podcasting (can you believe it? We can't...) With Jason Hervieux sitting in for Steve Romano for the next few weeks, the gals were happy to have a male perspective as they looked back at the homilies they shared from 1 Advent as well as chatting about Advent rituals and colors, bleeding hosts and the upcoming 100th episode. Pull up a comfy chair with your drink du jour and help us ring in this new liturgical year - enjoy!

All three ladies were back into the swing of things this week while the VOICE OF THE PEOPLE once again came up with a doozie of a topic for the gals to tackle. Thank goodness they were also able to discuss some timely homilies for the end of the B Cycle Liturgical Year, the proper names of our seasonal feasts and a timely recipe from Linda. Grab a cup of something and join us for a pre-Thanksgiving gab fest - enjoy!

We've received some great topic suggestions for our upcoming 100th Episode but we know there are still more out there. Do YOU have any suggestions?  if you'd like to send us your thoughts (or, of course, feedback on anything else) then here's what you need to do:

  • drop an email to mondaymorningcatholic@gmail.com
  • call us using the feedback line at 774-955-0659
  • jot down your thoughts in the comment box on this website
  • check out our Facebook page and post something or comment there

Please get this to us by TUESDAY DECEMBER 1st so we can have plenty of time to put together a great show for YOU, our loyal MMC community. Thanks for your support and we look forward to serving you for another 100 episodes. Thanks!

ALETEIA bills itself as a "Worldwide Catholic Network Sharing Faith Resources for those Seeking the Truth." A lot of the Catholic writers featured at Patheos have moved to this space and as of 11/22 they have also launched at music component named CECELIA (the Soul of Music). The site looks promising - let us know what you think of it. P.S. - You'll find Deacon Greg Kandra writing there now.

The dynamic duo (Linda & Joanne) tag teamed this week for a timely discussion of the end times and more. Unfortunately, Joanne is pressed for time this Monday morning and can't wax on here about all the fun and facts we shared so you'll just have to check out the audio and video for yourself!  As always, thanks for your support and enjoy!

Joanne and Linda welcomed frequent visitor to the podcast Jason Hervieux this week and he came complete with his own soundtrack (well, he IS the father of a 1-year-old!) as well as some young and hip observations on the topics at hand. The trio took on this week's scriptural tales of 2 widows as well as the Black or White vestments for funerals issue (thanks to the VOICE OF THE PEOPLE) and Online Etiquette for Catholics. Pull up a comfy chair with your beverage of choice and get ready for a fast paced and informative episode. Enjoy!

Jason gave a great topic suggestion for our upcoming 100th Show - how about you? We're looking for input on what to discuss or rehash so if you'd like to send us your thoughts (or feedback on anything else) then here's what you need to do:

  • drop an email to mondaymorningcatholic@gmail.com
  • call us using the feedback line at 774-955-0659
  • jot down your thoughts in the comment box on this website
  • check out our Facebook page and post something or comment there

Please get this to us by TUESDAY DECEMBER 1st so we can have plenty of time to put together a great show for YOU, our loyal MMC community. Thanks for your support and we look forward to serving you for another 100 episodes.

You can also help us reach more people by subscribing and leaving a 5 star review on iTunes, recommending us through the OVERCAST podcast app and recommending us to everyone through your own social media outlets. We're looking into a few more places like the new Android podcast app and some streaming music apps that now carry podcasts but if you know of any other places we should be, please let us know as well.
